MELLE

ABOUT

Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Melle captures the magic of music in honest and organic-sounding songs. His music can be described as indie-pop or indie-folk and ranges from intimate, acoustic ballads, reminiscent of artists such as Phoebe Bridgers and Sufjan Stevens, to energetic pop songs that sound like Sam Fender and Coldplay.

Melle has a huge collection of special instruments such as a tzouras, balalaika, theremin, taishogoto, zither and many more, of which he plays 23 different ones on his debut album 'Memories That I Am'. He believes that real, analog instruments always add much more character to a song than digital sounds. This analogue atmosphere can also be seen in his photos and videos, because his greatest passion besides music is working with old, vintage cameras.

In recent years, Melle has become an indispensable part of the Dutch music landscape. For example, he won the 'Nobel Award Leiden' and 'Mooie Noten Amsterdam' and his music was played on national radio. Hit single 'Run Run' was even declared Top Song on Radio 2 and ranked first in their V15 chart. In addition, music was released in collaboration with The Jordan, philine and Maryn Charlie and he opened for Ruben Hein and Charlie Winston.
